De's Loving Kim Kardashian's Perfume

Photobucket

I must admit that I do love Kim Kardashian.  Keeping up with the Kardashians is one of the few shows that I  look forward to watching every week. I love seeing how strong her family is and how they stand by  each other no matter what. It reminds me of my own family. I’ve also met Kim before, and she was just a very sweet and humble person.

So honestly, I was a little nervous to try her fragrance. If it stunk, I would have been highly disappointed. But after testing it out, I’m super pleased and think this will be my new signature scent. The notes are listed as Mandarin, Honey Suckle, Orange Blossom, Pink Jasmine, Tuberose, Sensual Spice, Lush Gardenia, Jacaranda Wood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Orchid, Sexy Musk, Creamy Sandalwood. But the two notes that truly stands out are the gardenia, and tuberose.  I’ve mentioned before that gardenia is one of my favorite scents but when tuberose is added, it’s a seductive  and feminine combination (Mr. DE is loving this!). The scent does kind of remind me of Michael Kors, but Kim’s fragrance  is much more toned down. (I've always thought Michael Kors scent was way too strong.)  The chemistry between this fragrance and myself is magnetic, and the staying power is is something to brag about. One spritz on my neck lasted the whole day and I received more than my fair share of compliments.

FYI: Kim will be at 4 Sephora Locations from February 4-27. If you buy any one of her bottles, you will receive an autographed pic taken with kim.

De's Loving The Crazy Sticks Perfume Sticks.

Photobucket

I have way too many scents. However, I hate putting them in my bag because they always end up leaking, and my bag always ends up smelling like my latest perfume addiction. Recently I tried these cute perfume sticks, and not only am I loving the scent, but I’m also loving the convenience of perfume on a stick. They’re called “The Crazy Sticks,” and the scent I tried was called “Homage A Gabrielle.” First of all, this smells so delish. I usually don’t like vanilla scents too much, but this one is just fabulous. It’s very light, with notes of peony and cedar making this a splendid mix of pure deliciousness. (Did that rhyme? Almost) The fragrance is just so clean, and luxurious, and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. I also love that this product contains no alcohol, no parabens, and no coloring agents. Mommy loves their Pompon Gardenia in a stick, reminds her of Chanel's!

HOLY GRAIL FRAGRANCES

When I go to Sephora, the first spot I run to is the fragrance section to try out new scents. I’m obsessed with them. It’s to the point where I have an area in my closet strictly devoted to my scents (Mr. De is not happy about having to put his work clothes in the dresser because of my perfume addiction taking over our closet). But, no matter how many new scents I buy or what season I’m in, I always end up going back to my Holy Grail which is the Dolce & Gabbana’s Women.

I’ve been wearing this for six years and I just can’t stop. I'll try out a new scent for a week or two but always revert back to this one. I don’t know what it is about this scent on me but the chemistry between us is fantastic. On my mom this smells like cat piss but on me, it’s glorious-clean and fresh but seductive at the same time, not overpowering at all. It’s to the point that I got into an argument on the 1 train yesterday because this guy kept sniffing me and telling me how amazing I smelled (NY subways are so full of weirdos).

What’s your holy grail scent?

Would you recommend any?

Hugs,

DE

INTRODUCING PEARLS BY CAROL'S DAUGHTER

Photobucket Image Hosting

Carol's Daughter is launching their first fine fragrance Pearls on November 1. Lisa Price descibes the scent:

"It is absolutely gorgeous and I am in love. For this scent I used violets, vanilla, lemon verbena and sweet sugar to make a scent that is not a gourmand but soft and sophisticated. I had the pleasure of working with legendary fragrance house, Firmenich to add the finishing touches to it and to create a scent that is as timeless as the gem for which it is named."

I was given the opportunity to try this scent and I must admit, I'm hooked too. Although this scent has notes of bergamont, lemon, apricot and peach, the drydown has distinct notes of musk and vanilla, wrapped around caramel. This fragrance is so warm and delish not overpowering at all. Mr. De likes it too and I think my aunt stole my bottle. Don't you just love this luxe and glam bottle?

UPDATE: BEAUTY ADVISORS FROM CAROL'S DAUGHTER WILL BE ON HAND AT MACYS HERALD SQUARE ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 FROM 1-3 TO INTRODUCE YOU TO THE STORY OF THE REAL CAROL'S DAUGHTER, LISA PRICE.

This scent is set to launch November 1, 2008.

What's your favorite Carol's Daughter scent?

A little obsessed with Melange

Last week, I rubbed on a new fragrance before meeting my friends at Asia De Cuba for our weekly Friday dinners. I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my scent, and I wanted to give you girlies the scoop. I’m obsessed with Melange Apothecary Concrete perfumes.
Photobucket
These parfums are delicious smelling fragrances in a solid form and very small packaging (you can easily fit them in your cute pochette). My two favorite scents are Tuberose & Green Tea. The tuberose is this clean, fresh scent with floral notes. It reminds me of Philosophy’s Pure Grace, but Melange’s is so much better. The Green tea is this amazing woodsy fragrance. So Yum! There are over twenty other concrete parfums, and the wonderful thing is that you can blend them to create your own personalized fragrance. Plus because these concrete parfums are prepared with Jojoba oil & pure beeswax, the scent is so long-lasting but never overpowering. And guess what!! I’ve got even better news. These babies are only $10.00!!! This is a must-have and I mean it! www.melangeapothecary.com
