BEAUTYLOGIC JUST LOVES ARLENIS!
Arlenis with Miss Dominican Republic
Congratulations to Lancome spokesmodel Arlenis Sosa who was honored at The Latin Pride National Awards last Thursday night in Boston. These awards recognize the most successful representatives of the Latino community in sports, film, music, education—and of course, fashion.
The annual celebration takes place in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month to commemorate and celebrate the positive contributions of the Latino community to the American culture. As many of you know, my dear Arlenis hails from my country of origin. Ah, I was so excited to meet her. If you don't remember my post, click here As I said before, this woman's spirit captivated me. When I met her, I felt as if we were old friends.
Arlenis wore a gown by fellow Dominican Oscar de la Renta, a designer who has supported her every season that she’s been a model. Arlenis told Lancome that she was quite nervous, especially when she looked out at the audience filled with Latinos, and was overcome with pride and gratitude.
Arlenis just shot a major LancĂ´me makeup ad. She’s also hard at work on a special charity project to benefit the underprivileged in her country. Stay tuned for details! Arlenis is currently in Europe taking part in the Spring 2010 collections.

6 Mistakes You May Want to Avoid While in a Relationship
I made a new video. I know it’s not one of the selections I gave you, but I thought it would be a fun one. It’s called "Six mistakes you should try to avoid while in a relationship." I did this video for two reasons. In the past two weeks, three of my good friends have been broken up with, and my male cousin who was the consummate player, who claimed he only dated women that were tens and up just got engaged, and is so in love with his average looking girlfriend it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. My friends had no idea why the guys they were with broke up with them. They claim they did everything to make the relationship work Unfortunately, that sometimes may not be the solution. When I asked my cousin what made his girlfriend different from the others, he told me some very interesting reasons.
These mistakes are a few things that I saw my friends doing, and things that my cousin’s girlfriend apparently never does. He loves the fact that she’s independent. He loves the fact that her life does not revolve around him. That she’s ambitious, and confident. She’s got her own thing going. That sometimes when he calls her, she waits to call him back for a few minutes. During those few minutes, he waits for those calls eagerly. Where as my friends made things way too easy. Remember men are hunters, when something comes too easy it gets boring fast.
BEAUTYLOGICBLOG REVIEW-AMLA OIL
Hey Honeybunns,
I did a review on Amla oil on youtube. If you don't want to watch the 3.5 minute video, just know that I wasn't loving the oil,and I think i'll stick to my coconut oil. People keep asking me for the link where coconut oil is proven to work on the hair. Here's the link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12715094
Here's my Amla Oil Youtube:
I hope you can see it. I just loaded it so it may take some time.
What do you think my next video should be?
1) Hair tonic
2) how to get arms like Michelle Obama?
3) How to blow dry your hair like a Dominican?
Please e-mail me and let me know.
Hugs,
DE

Korres Primer & Winners of Profound Beauty Giveaway
My skin is so super sensitive, it's ridiculous. Because I'm a tan skin mama, the slightest irritation can lead to me having dark marks all over my face for MONTHS! I hate that! Anyway, I always try to use primers on my skin before foundation. They're important because they act as a barrier between your skin and makeup. One that I am adoring, is Korress Silicone Free Primer. I first heard about this because it won Sephora’s best of the best. However, I never pay attention to that. One of the reasons I started beautylogic is because I got tired of so many beauty magazines, and companies claiming that a product was fabulous, but when I got my hands on it, it usually was a dud. Well this product actually lives up to the hype. What I love about this is that most primers do contain silicone which can irritate your skin, but not this one. It’s loaded with vitamin E, jojoba oil and something called edelweiss extract (not sure what that is). What I do know is that this leaves my skin super soft, and moisturized. I haven't had any breakouts at all since using this. Not only that, but my skin looks super flawless, my makeup application is a dream, and it last all day.
I love this stuff.
Have you tried Korres' face primer?
Do you love it?
Hugs,
DE

2) Ashley Wallace (she sent me pics of her daughter, holy crap, she is super cute, and gorgeous hair too)

AVOCADOS FOR BEAUTY
I love Avocados. They taste delish and are so healthy for you. Also, their beauty benefits both internal and external are great. Internally avocados are loaded with Essential fatty acids. These are good fats, that make your skin softer, and your hair healthy and shiny. Avocados also contains a very high amount of protein which is ESSENTIAL for hair growth. But I also love making avocado masque. They leave my skin so moisturized, and glowing. Mash up a ripe avocado, mix it with some honey, and an egg yolk. You’ll love it.
Do you love Avocados?

De's loving PROFOUND BEAUTY -ANTI FRIZZ
My hair is my best buddy and friend. When no one else is around, I know she'll always be. (Alright I sound a little crazy) But you girls know how much I love and take care of her. Recently I got the chance to try a new product from a company called Profound Beauty. It's their Anti-Frizz Time out Treatment. I must say I loved this. After my stylist washing my hair, I applied a dab on, and she began to blow dry. This product claims that it has something called a hydrophobic complex which is supposed to mimic something in your hair called the F Layer. Apparently coloring, and other chemicals can lead to your hair's F layer being compromised, and you need your F-layer to prevent frizz. Anyway without getting into the logistics of this, this stuff works. First off, after using this, my hair was gleaming. Here's a pic.
Second: The night I went out with this, it was a very humid rainy day in New York. I was going to meet my fellow bloggers at this great party. Anyway, my hair did not frizz at all. Even a few bloggers were asking me what I was using. This stuff is FANTUBULAR (this little girl said that to me yesterday and I thought it was so cute). And stay tuned, I may just be doing a giveaway for a few of these.
Have you tried this stuff?
Hugs,
DE

ZOYA'S TRUTH COLLECTION IS THE TRUTH!
You guys know how much I love to paint my nails. The problem with painting my nails is because I’m always typing, usually my colors chip within a few days. However, with Zoya’s new Truth Polish, it took 4 days for one color to even begin chipping. The Zoya truth collection is a gorgeous array of six luscious shades, perfect for the falll months.
Here are some swatches.
The first color is Anaka, a stunnng fuschia with sparkles. Now check this out. This is Anaka after six days. Do you see how little it has chipped. I’m amazed!
The second shade is Isla (which in Spanish means island). A sexy luxurious red.
The Third Shade is called Salma, It’s a tricky shade of red/orange. I say tricky because it looks a light red in the bottle but once applied, I feel it has more of an lustrous orange to it. It’s beautiful.
The fourth shade is Drew. It’s a gorgeous shade of mauve. I love the classiness of this. Perfect for work.
The Fifth Shade is Penny. It’s a beautiful gold, but for some reason looks orange on my camera.
The last shade is Kalmia. It’s a beautiful golden pink. I love love love it.
What shades do you love in this collection?
Also, have you entered my lancome giveaway. You can win one of Arlenis Sosa's products.
Hugs,

OK Mag, DE, Kim Kardashian, and her must have beauty item.
I can never take the pic right when I'm holding the camera, hence why you only see half of my face.
Ok magazine invited BEAUTYLOGICBLOG to a fab party last night at the meatpacking district in Manhattan. It was so much fun, with great drinks and a fab crowd. Anyway, the party was introducing Kim Kardashian as their newest contributing beauty editor. When I saw her, I was stunned. The woman is flawless. She was so incredibly gracious and sweet and oh so flawless (i said that already, sorry)
I asked her what exactly was the beauty product that she could never be without. She said Smashbox’s BRONZE LIGHT MATTE BRONZER has to always be with her.
I’ve never tried it before, but I’ve tried many other products by Smashbox, and do love them. I’m actually rocking their newest “Crowned” gloss as we speak. Such a gorgeous nude gloss . I’m running to Sephora today to grab that bronzer.
Have you tried Smashbox’s Matte bronzer?

Food for Beauty-Soy
Alright guys, not sure if I ever told you, but I’ve lactose intolerant. All I ever drink is soy milk. Well, a recent study says that soy milk is fab for anti-aging. According to USA today:
One Japanese study found that soy produced visible results: After eight weeks, women who ate foods containing 40mg of aglycone, a soy isoflavone, each day saw improvement in their skin elasticity, in comparison with women who ate non-soy-based foods. And after 12 weeks, the women eating soy noticed a reduction of fine lines.
I’m a soy fanatic. I love Edensoy soy milk in vanilla, it’s delish. I drink soy with my cereal, and yes even in my coffee. My favorite starbucks drink is a soy chai 5 pumps of chai, no water, extra hot. So drink soy milk, not only does it taste good, but it will keep you looking young and beautiful.
ARLENIS SOSA CHIT CHATS WITH BEAUTYLOGIC & GIVEAWAY FOR 10 READERS.
Well guys it finally happened. Arlenis Sosa and I met. It was great. She was everything I expected and more. Gorgeous, Statuesque, and just super sweet.
She went out of her way to answer all of my questions. She’s so super stunning in person, with these gorgeous thick eyebrows, incredibly high cheekbones, and beautiful lips. I can’t believe how tall she is. She’s got to be at least two feet taller than me. I felt like a midget. lol On another note, she had on the hottest shoes ever! I dream of those heels. I’d like to thank Arlenis for being so wonderful and the beautiful people of Lancome for setting that up including Kerry Diamond and Patricia Reynoso who is the director of Lancome PR and is a fellow Dominicana. Her blog is fabulous as well. It’s called latintale.com
Anyway without further adieu, let’s chit chat with ARLENIS
1) How do you keep your hair so fabulous even though it’s probably gets exposed to heat and damaging products all the time?
Conditioning is so important to the health of your hair. The shampoo/conditioner I use all the time contains tea tree oil. It’s very minty and leaves my hair very clean. I try never to use hairspray because it just dries out your hair, but if I do, I wash it out. I use a great tea tree deep treatment for about 10 minutes, and then I wash it off with hot water, and then after with cold water. It leaves my hair really soft and moisturized.
2)How do you keep your skin so fab?
There’s a lot to that. I drink a lot of water. I never ever sleep with makeup on and I try to get at least eight hours of sleep. It is so important to allow the skin to take a rest. In the evening, I wash my face. I then use Lancome’s Tonique Radiance to get rid of every single trace of makeup. After that I put a hot towel on my face for a little bit then end the night by using Lancome’s Focus cream. In the morning, I use the toner again, and then use Lancome’s Bienfait Multi-Vital Glow for moisture. If I’m not shooting, I never wear makeup-well maybe just mascara and eyeliner. Best mascara as you know are the Lancome Oscillation & Lancome Definicils
3)What beauty products must be in Arlenis’s makeup bag at all times?
Hmmm.. always Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital Glow, and my mascara and eyeliner. The expression of a woman's eyes is the most important to her face.
4) What life advice can you give us?
In life, do what you feel like you were meant to do. You can’t settle. You have to be positive all the time as well. If you want something then go 100% for it, and know that it will happen and it will.
Thanks Arlenis, We love you here.
Arlenis is walking in some great shows for fashion week. Oscar De la Renta, Narcisco Rodrigues, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Tommy Hilfiger, Jason Wu and Ruffian. You go girl!
Hey guys, do you notice a pattern here, all of the successful people that I’ve interviewed believed in themselves. Let’s believe we can make it and we will.

MJ will Live Forever
I recently went to cover an MJ impersonation event and I was shocked at how many people from all different races, and ages showed up. The guy has influenced everyone. I thought this little blond haired boy was just too cute.
And the guy to my right looked way too much like him (nose jobs and all), spoke like him, I was a little freaked out.
We Love you MJ!

Hey guys, are you so psyched about Fashions Night Out? I am! I can’t wait. So many events, and so little time. You know Lancome (a friend to this blog) is having some of the best events. One of the events I’m super excited about is meeting fellow Dominicana and Lancome spokeswoman Arlenis. I am so proud of this beautiful Dominicana. If you have any questions you'd like to ask her, please send me an e-mail at beautylogicblog@yahoo.com
I’m so excited.

BLACK OPAL PRECISION EYE DEFINER BLACK JADE
When I was younger, I absolutely hated my eyes. Growing up, I was teased endlessly about how huge they were and how they popped out. “Pop Eye” was my nickname in Junior high school, but now years later, I love love love them. I think (besides my hair) they may be my best feature. They’re huge, and almondshaped and they’re perfect to me. I love playing them up with shadows, and eyeliners. Recently I lost my usual eyeliner pencil and I got my hands on Black Opal’s precision Eye Definer in Black Jade. All I got to say is wow. First of all, this last pretty much all day (although it doesn’t say waterproof). This stayed on my eyelids a solid 8 hours before I had to reapply (which is pretty much how long my color stay stays on.) Then the black shade was so rich, and beautiful. It applied like a dream too because it’s loaded with moisturizing ingredients like chamomile and aloe vera.
I love it and I think you’ll love it too!
Remember Beauty can and should always be affordable.

De Loves Korres Guava Body Butter.
I’m such a girly girl when it comes to scents. I have to leave my house smelling like something, lol. My latest scent is Korres Guava Body Butter. This will be a keeper for a long time for a few reasons. This is such a delicious feminime fruity scent but not overpowering at all. I hate when people walk by me smelling like they were picking pineapples or watermelons all day, it gets on my nerves. This thick lotion is not scented like that. The scent is is so clean, fresh, with a hint of fruit and it moisturizes so well. My skin is so hydrated after using this. A great thing about Korres, is that none of their products contain Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals ,Phthalates, GMOs and Triclosan.
Right after I shower, I apply this all over my body, and when I’m taking the subway to work, people ask me all day, “What are you wearing, it smells divine.” I never tell though. I’ll only tell my readers.
Do you love Korres Guava Body Butter? I’m really loving a lot of their products.
Do you use anything Korres?

Food For Beauty-Blueberries
My goal in life (besides being a reporter) is to stay looking 21 forever. But I think I’m doing a better job than I imagined. I always get carded when I play lotto, and people can’t believe that I am not 18. I love that. As you guys know, although topical products are great for anti-aging, I do believe that the secret to me looking so young has more to do with my diet. A fruit that I must eat every day whether it’s on my yogurt or in my special K or in my pancakes is blueberries. First of all blueberries contain more antioxidants than any other fruit. It’s loaded with Vitamin C-which helps build collagen. I also use blueberries topically. I mix blueberries, and honey together, and walaa, got a great affordable antioxidant moisturizing masque that leaves my skin fabulous.
Do you love Blueberries?
What do you put blueberries in?
Hugs,
DE
