Also, I'm sorry I haven't been blogging as much. I appreciate you guys emailing me asking me if I'll be back soon, but here's my issue: at this point, I'm really going hard to make my dream come true of being on TV. I'm so blessed to be a beauty editor for a Latin magazine, and it' something that has been on my vision board for years. I love doing it and the people I work with are truly the most wonderful people I have ever met.  It is truly a blessing and I'm so thankful for the opportunity.  But another goal  is to be a lifestyle reporter, and I'm going to make it happen. I'm trying to book myself on tv as much as possible,  writing new segments every day to pitch, and so far so good. In the next month, I have three coming up, including my first national one (The Today Show woohoo!). I'm so excited about it. But, I got a lot of   emails recently asking if I'll ever be doing a new therapy therapy post and beauty posts. Yes, I will. I've got a few beauty  coming up, including Estee Lauder's new fall Collection. How gorgeous!

 And as for Therapy Thursday, here are some new ones coming, "Stop seeking validation from others" "How to control yourself when you may want to lose it with your kids" and the one I get the most, "How does Milly deal with sadness" because yes, I do get sad from time to time too, but remember, your life is a reflection of your thoughts so if you have SAD thoughts, you'll have a Sad life, so let's be happy. woohoo!  Remember you only have one life to live. YOLO! (do you know I just learned what "yolo" meant about two months ago and I had to google it.ha )

As you girls know lately I've really been loving Salma Hayek's new line. I find not only the skin care products to be really effective (I'll be reviewing a lot more this week) but her makeup line is so great. Happy Birthday to Milly and the blog & Giveaway for 5 readers

Hey guys, today July 8 is my 21st bday. Stop looking at me that way, I'm 21 FOREVER!
Today is also my blog bday of 4 years.
First off, thanks for reading.
I started BL four years ago and it's been a lot of fun.
My blog first started talking beauty, but then, as I got to know a lot of my readers and you guys kept emailing me asking for advice about school, life etc, I began to realize that a lot of you girls had the same issues, so rather than keep emailing different girls the same advice, I decided to start my life advice column in the hopes that it would help anyone who needed it.
Although I appreciate you guys reading me for beauty advice, the biggest compliment I got was a letter from a reader recently, and she simply wrote this:
"Milly, I love your blog. Your funny, and you seem like a nice person. I love your beauty reviews, and I love your life advice. Your life advice section has changed my life for the better. Thank you"
My mom always taught me that there's nothing greater than being of service to others.
And it's true.
I hope with each of my posts, no matter if it's beauty or life advice, you realize something about yourself. You realize that you're gifted, you're amazing, and you can do anything.

BeautyLogic 4 Year Anniversary Clarisonic Mia Giveaway For You and a Friend

Guess what? In less than a  month, this blog will be 4 years old. Can you believe that?

I remember when I started it. At the time my then boyfriend (now husband) had annoyed me, so I asked him to leave my apartment. After he left, I  went online and started reading about things that made me happy-beauty products. After a while, I started asking myself, why don’t I start a beauty blog, but not just about exterior beauty, about internal beauty as well, and add a  bit of randomness too. Although this blog doesn’t get a gazillion hits per month, I love the people who do read me. There have been many times when I thought about shutting this site down, but then I would get an email from one of you girls telling me you loved one of  my recommendations, or another email from someone else telling me my life advice had changed their life. Those emails mean so much to me, and I appreciate them. I thank you very much for being a part of my life. 

Anyway, about a month ago, Beautylogic was invited to attend a Clarisonic event. You girls know how much I love my Clarisonic. I’ve mentioned it here, here, here, and about 20 other times.  It is my must-have beauty product. During the event, we found out so many things about the Clarisonic. Like the fact that it oscillates over 300 times per second, that it is so effective yet so delicate on skin that even people with rosacea can use it, that it’s one of Oprah’s favorite things. I was also introduced to the deep pore cleansing brush which I am loving and will be doing a separate review on shortly. It’s so amazing if you have oily skin. (Now that the summer is here, my skin tends to get on the oilier side!) It fits into those hard to reach areas on your nose too. Anyway, you girls know what I’m doing. Kate Walsh Boyfriend Perfume & Beauty Must-Have & Giveaway!

Yesterday I was invited to meet actress Kate Walsh (Addison on 2  of my fave shows, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice) and talk with her about her new fragrance/perfume Boyfriend. Just want to start this off by saying Kate was one of the sweetest celebs we've ever spoken to. She's  incredibly down to earth and just wonderful. Anyway, her fragrance Boyfriend was inspired  by her ex boyfriend. She had just broken up with him, and she was missing him. She was missing him so much, that  she decided to go to the store and buy a mens cologne. After buying the cologne and realizing it was way too masculine, she decided that she wanted to create a fragrance. One that would be a combination of a man's scent on a woman's skin, masculine and feminine notes. That's when the fragrance Boyfriend was created.

This perfume contains notes of Jasmine, Myrrh, Golden Amber, Plum. On me, this dries down to a  delicious blend of  sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla. It smells so good.  A light  subtle fragrance, nothing too strong. I can' stand strong fragrances. I hate when I can smell someone from like two blocks away. Random fact: Did you guys know that the jasmine scent is considered nature's aphrodisiac? Anyway I applied the fragrance while interviewing  Kate, after that I went to meet Mr. Milly for lunch. I took the subway to meet him, and it was packed with people. A man told me I smelled "delicious. " Then I went to meet Mr. Milly and like I always tell you, if Mr. Milly notices anything, that means it's a winner. The man notices nothing. He was quick to notice this scent. He couldn't stop commenting "Man you smell yummy." This product is a winner in my book.

What is your must-have beauty product?

At night it's this weird thing, I use Emu Oil. You can get it at whole foods or online. I put it on my skin. It's non comodegenic won't clog pores,  super hydrating. It's very healing. My makeup artist put me on to it. You can use it on your zits, and on burns. A friend of mine put it on her burn after she got burned with a curling iron. At night, I moisturize and then put a little bit of that before I go to bed. Or even in the morning before I do my makeup. It's very healing.

And what products do you use on your hair?

 I use Joico products. Their stuff is great and Bumble and Bumble Red. I love Bumble & Bumble's  red shampoo/conditioner, keeps the red in. And I do a conditioning treatment once every four weeks.

What life advice can you give anyone trying to do what you are doing?
I will say if you have ideas/dreams, talk about it. Share with other people, and get them for support.  I started talking about it, writing about it, the more people I talked to it about, the more buoyed I kind of got. People kept saying "that's a great idea."   You never know who someone knows that can help you. Talking about it a lot, will get you a lot of support.  Also, If the idea won't leave me alone, then I know I got to do it. If something haunts you, DO IT!

Viviscal Hair Growth Formula & Giveaway

I get a lot of emails asking me "Milly, What you can do to make my hair grow?"  I truly believe that hair growth begins from within. Remember that your hair is dead and it grows from the scalp, so nothing that you apply on it, will make it wake up and start growing. Imagine if your hair was alive. It would hurt like hell when you got a hair cut! Lol,  Although I do believe massaging your scalp can definitely stimulate hair growth. It's so important that you are taking the proper nutrients. Anyway, I recently received a box of Viviscal to try out. Viviscal is a pill that contains Horsetail extract -an organic from of silica, Vitamin C, and something called Amino Mar C Marine Complex. It's said to stimulate hair growth.  Apparently a few dermatologist and hair transplant surgeons recommend this stuff. In the February issue of Vogue Magazine Famed Hair Stylist Orlando Pita says that he constantly recommends this stuff and Redken editorial Wiz Guido Paulo stated that he heard about it through a model he knew whose hair was extremely damaged and then when he saw her six months later, her hair looked amazing, very thick and long. Anyway, I have not tried this stuff nor can I because I'm currently nursing a seven month old lil cutie who just grew two teeth (Ouch!)  but I'd like one of my readers to give it a whirl. Favorite Nail Polish Collection 2010 and New Zoya Intimate Collection Giveaway

Hands down, my favorite nail polish line of 2010 was Zoya. They just kept bringing the heat. Murad Essential C-Day Moisturizer -Favorite Moisturizer 2010 & Giveaway

Moisturizers on my skin can be very tricky. There's some moisturizers that I wouldn't dare apply in the summer due to them being way too moisturizing and leaving my face looking a greasy mess,  and others that are not at all hydrating enough for the Winter time. So usually I have different moisturizers for the seasons. However, one moisturizer that I love, and  that I can easily wear year round is Murad's Essential  C moisturizer. I love this moisturizer for a few reasons. 1) It contains a stable version of vitamin c. Vitamin c is important for collagen synthesis and is a powerful antioxidant. These are important for me especially since I plan to stay looking 21 forever.  Stop looking at me that way. lol  2) This contains spf 30 3) This doesn't contain parabens, pthalates, petrochemicals, gmos or triclosans which makes this a great alternative for pregnant women. If you're pregnant, you really don't want anything with pthalates. Also, this product is great for year round use. You only need a dime size amount for your entire face. I found when I used this in the winter it really moisturized my skin which can get very dry due to the weather, but when I used this in the summer time, it left my skin hydrated without leaving it greasy. It also helps with hyperpigmentation. It really reduced an old acne scar that I got from sleeping with my makeup on one night (yes I know I"m not supposed to do that, but I was exhausted!). Also, this product really left my face glowing.

My only qualm with this product is the price. $60 bucks is a lot of dough. However, since you only need a dime size amount for your whole entire face this will easily last a year so I think it's worth it.

All in all, I'm loving this.

JOICO K-PAK RECONSTRX VAPOR IRON IS AMAZING & New Giveaway!!!

I'll be honest, ever since my hair got wet and gross due to the rain on Sunday, I had no desire to fix it. Maybe it's the hormones (still breast feeding) or the fact that I haven't been sleeping at all lately, but this week, Linette (name for my hair) was the last thing on my mind. However, this iron  was a totally different animal. It's loaded with a conditioning liquid called Vapor Fuel. While you iron your hair, it's getting infused with Vapor Fuel's exclusive blend of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, botanical moisturizers. I washed my hair and air dried it. I then filled the iron with the conditioning vapor fuel liquid, turned it on sectioned off my hair and began making waves with the iron.  (I never flat iron my hair straight. When my hair is too straight it makes my head look enormous.) The first thing I noticed after ironing one section,was my hair was GLEAMING! I could not believe how shiny and silky my hair felt.  It was incredible. Since my hair is very thick, usually I have to pass the iron over it about three times before I see results, but not with this one, I only passed it once, and wow, my waves looked amazing. As I was ironing, I heard the vapor sounds letting me know that my hair was getting deeply conditioned. Here's how my hair looked after I ironed it: It was beautiful!

This iron is a must have. Within 30 minutes Linette (name for my hair) was looking stunning!  I still can't get over the shine. Get this: Last night, I slept on a  cotton pillow (instead of my silk pillow) and my hair is still looking so shiny and healthy this morning.  I'm obsessed with this iron and I want you to be obsessed with this iron too.
