Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash

I used to spend so much money on shower gels. But then I started thinking. “Why spend so much money on something that washes off, no matter how good it smells.” So I started to buy my showergels in drugstores instead of Sephora and once I found Caress’ Tahitian Vanilla, I fell in love. The smell was delish, and it lingered on my skin for hours. Needless to say Caress became my newest addiction. I recently got the chance to try Caress’s newest showergel, Evenly gorgeous, and my my my, this is seriously great. First of all, like most Caress gels, it has this delicious aroma, sort of like a vanilla , caramel, just yummy! It’s loaded with burnt brown sugar & Karite butter which leave DE’s skin not only exfoliated but moisturized and fabulous as well. No wonder Kim Kardashian loves it.

Have you tried Caress’ body gels?

Have you tried the Evenly gorgeous one?

Best Scrub-Zia Bamboo Exfoliant Scrub

Photobucket

I try to use an exfoliant on my skin at least twice a week. (Got to get rid of those dead skin cells, plus with the winter, my skin is dry as heck!) My Favorite scrub for 2008 is the Zia Bamboo exfoliant. The granules in this aren’t too large or harsh, and this scrub has the amazing ability to really exfoliate my skin, removing all my dead surface cells, but it also leaves my skin so moisturized and hydrated. It contains bamboo extract which is the exfoliator. As well as Soybean oil, ricebran oil and yucca extract, these ingredients keep the skin super moist and it uses lemon oil to clarify. So many nourishing ingredients! My skin is left so renewed but not tight, just incredibly soft, silky and smooth, and this doesn’t break me out at all. This would be BeautyLogic’s Best Scrub for 2008

Carol's Daughter Mango Scrub= Luxurious Skin & Appearance

I hope your thanksgiving was amazing. Mine was great. I went to see my Grandmother, and my whole family was there. My aunt (from the south) made the best stuffing and homemade sweet potato pies ever. I was in heaven. Yum Yum! Now let's talk beauty.

In my last post, I introduced you to my new obsession which is my Carol’s Daughter Mango Melange Sea Salt Body Scrub. A few months ago I had heard that my other obsession Beyonce, loved Carol’s daughter Mango’s products so you know I had to get my hands on this. (Did I ever tell you that Beyonce’s makeup artist’s assistant said B and I look alike? I think that was my best day ever! Although I don't see any resemblance at all, lol). Anyway, B knows what she’s talking about. This scrub is magnificent. First of all the scent is heavenly fruity like a mix of delish mango with coconut, yummy! It reminds me of the islands, and when I open it, thoughts of my happy summers in the Dominican Republic come back to me. But not only that, it also thoroughly exfoliates my skin, without being harsh, and it contains some serious nourishing oils like almond and jojoba to really moisturize my skin. By the time I’ve rinsed this off, not only does my skin smell like delicious island fruit but it’s so soft and smooth, I don’t even need to use any lotion when I’m done.

BeautyLogic’s New obsession-Suki Lemongrass/Sugar Exfoliator.

I wanted to let you guys know about this glorious exfoliator I’ve been using. Have you heard of Suki? Chances are if you’ve walked through the beauty aisles of Whole Foods you’ve seen these natural products around. I’ve been using their Lemongrass Exfoliator and I love it!

Photobucket

First of all Lemongrass is known for working wonders on skin because it’s loaded with the powerful antioxidant vitamin C which is also a great skin exfoliant. When I was a teenager and suffering from severe acne, mommy would make me drink lemongrass tea every day. This also contains sugar! Sugar of course contains natural glycolic acid, which is a another fab exfoliant. I can’t stress how important exfoliation is for your skin care regimen and your fight against aging. (FYI, Yesterday, my theater teacher thought I was twenty-one, Yippee!!!). Everyday, your skin is exposed to so many toxins and pollutants. A great exfoliator will help remove that exposed layer, and reveal your wonderful new skin. Exfoliation is great if you suffer from hyper pigmentation as well. It will help clear up those marks a lot faster. I don’t recommend exfoliating every day but twice or three times a week is sufficient.

When I opened Suki's Lemongrass/Sugar exfoliator the first thing I noticed was the delicious aroma of lemons. I then took about a dime size of the product and began applying using gentle circular motions on my face. Now the first day I used this, I had come from taking my headshots so my skin was packed with make-up (reporters need to take headshots). With one application of this, my make-up was completely removed. The granules are not harsh and my skin was not left overly red or irritated. After I used it, I noticed that my skin was left so soft with a gorgeous glow! I also used this after i self tan, and it's fabulous for removing tanning cream that has gotten on your fingertips. I love the fact that this product is completely vegan and that the owner Suki wants to make a perfect skincare line with 100% natural ingredients. Mommy’s been using this too and she’s obsessed.

Have you tried Suki Products before?

What do you use as a great exfoliant?

Hugs,

DE

Rub a Dub Dub with Giovanni's Hot Chocolate Scrub

A few weeks ago, I sent my honeybunn to Wholefoods to pick up one of my favorite blueberry scrubs. He returned a few hours later, explaining that he couldn’t find the product I was referring to , so he picked up something else that he knew I would like. After cursing him under my breath for not going to every Whole Foods in New York to search for my scrub (yes, it was that time of the month), I mumbled a sarcastic “thanks” and grabbed the bag. When I looked inside I saw he had purchased a scrub by Giovanni, and when I opened it and sniffed, all was forgiven.

Giovanni Organics Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub with Cocoa Beans

Photobucket

This scrub is nothing short of amazing. It’s a sugar scrub that is scented exactly like yummy hot cocoa. Not overpowering at all, just a serious delicious hot chocolate. After sniffing this, I couldn’t wait to try it. So, I ran to shower again. (I had just showered an hour before.) The aroma of this is just pure decadent chocolate and seriously I just couldn’t take my nose out of the jar. (I’ve said this already I know, but you have no idea how good…ok I’ll stop, I’m sorry.) When I began using this, I noticed that the product warms up as you scrub. It felt so soothing. The granules of this are not fine, but they aren’t abrasive at all. They’re just perfect and this product does a marvelous job of exfoliating. After using this, my skin was left incredibly moisturized (but not sticky at all ) and soooooooo soft. Mr DE kept commenting on how silky my skin felt, and he couldn’t stop caressing me. I’ve been using this right before I self tan, and you won’t believe how even and fabulous my tans have been looking. If you’re looking for a 5 star scrub and want thoroughly exfoliated, smooth skin, this is it.

Has anyone tried this?

What were your thoughts?

Hugs,

DE

Blueberries Aren’t Just For Breakfast

I have a weird addiction for things that smell like blueberries. No matter what it is, if it smells like blueberries, I want it. It’s such a fresh, clean, and delish scent- reminds me of my cousin’s farm back in the Dominican Republic. My boyfriend constantly catches me opening up my blueberry products, and sniffing them (he thinks I’m nuts, but whatever). Here are some of my favorite blueberry scented products that actually work wonders for me, while feeding my addiction for all thing scented blueberries.

Bath & Body Works 100% Organic Vegeterian Blueberry Scrub
Photobucket I bought this last week and I’m addicted. First of all this scrub is 10000% natural and not made with any parabens or any chemicals. It smells incredibly fruity and the granules exfoliate my skin so well without being harsh on my skin. I love how after I use this, I don’t really need to use a moisturizer on my legs because this leaves my skin so soft, and smooth.

Whish Beauty Shave Crave Pump

Photobucket The one thing thats better than the blueberry scent is blueberry mint products! Prior to buying this, I really hated shaving my legs, but now I shave them all the time-. This shaving cream has the most amazing blueberry mint aroma and it leaves my skin super smooth, refreshed, and moisturized and I never cut my legs while using this (which is huge for me because before I would cut my legs all the time).

Essie Blueberry Banana Lotion
PhotobucketAhhhhhhh, the scent of blueberry banana, yuuummy, I bring this when I get my pedis. I like them to massage my legs with this…………

The Body Deli Blueberry Fusion Fresh Cell Face Scrub

PhotobucketOne of my bestest friends lives in Cali and sent me this recently as an early bday gift-(she knows about my blueberry obsession). This company, The Body Deli’s products are all 100% organic, and natural. They claim to have this whole system of keeping the ingredients in their products alive. This product is so wondrous; I wouldn’t care if the ingredients were dead (j/k). The smell of this product takes me to heaven and not only that, my face is left so exfoliated, without irritation, no redness at all, and soooooooooo hydrated and smooth. Also, blueberry is a huge antioxidant so using it on my face will keep those wrinkles away!I love this product. Thanks Shayla

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter

Photobucket Do you want skin to feel soft as a baby’s bottom? I do, and I definitely get that result when I use this product. I’m addicted to all of the The Body Shops body butter’s but this is my favorite. The scent is so fruity and incredibly yummmmmmmmmmmmy. It’s loaded with nourishing ingredients like blueberry oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and sesame oil. I actually own three of these because I tend to open and sniff them so much, that the scent ends up going away (as soon as that happens, I have to re-buy). However, this thick cream is so moisturizing, after using it this your legs will feel so smooth and silky allllllll day and the big plus is they’ll smell like blueberries tooooooooooooooooo. Yummmmmmmmm

What are your favorite fruit scents? Are you psycho like me and buy anything that smells like blueberries? Let me know.
