Murad Essential C-Day Moisturizer -Favorite Moisturizer 2010 & Giveaway

Moisturizers on my skin can be very tricky. There's some moisturizers that I wouldn't dare apply in the summer due to them being way too moisturizing and leaving my face looking a greasy mess,  and others that are not at all hydrating enough for the Winter time. So usually I have different moisturizers for the seasons. However, one moisturizer that I love, and  that I can easily wear year round is Murad's Essential  C moisturizer. I love this moisturizer for a few reasons. 1) It contains a stable version of vitamin c. Vitamin c is important for collagen synthesis and is a powerful antioxidant. These are important for me especially since I plan to stay looking 21 forever.  Stop looking at me that way. lol  2) This contains spf 30 3) This doesn't contain parabens, pthalates, petrochemicals, gmos or triclosans which makes this a great alternative for pregnant women. If you're pregnant, you really don't want anything with pthalates. Also, this product is great for year round use. You only need a dime size amount for your entire face. I found when I used this in the winter it really moisturized my skin which can get very dry due to the weather, but when I used this in the summer time, it left my skin hydrated without leaving it greasy. It also helps with hyperpigmentation. It really reduced an old acne scar that I got from sleeping with my makeup on one night (yes I know I"m not supposed to do that, but I was exhausted!). Also, this product really left my face glowing.

My only qualm with this product is the price. $60 bucks is a lot of dough. However, since you only need a dime size amount for your whole entire face this will easily last a year so I think it's worth it.

All in all, I'm loving this.

Dr. Murad wants you to love it too. He's given BeautyLogic, not only the moisturizer for you girls to try out, but a Full size Essential C -Serum, and the Essential C eye cream. Its his Mission Sun Undone set. It's a $136.00 Value.

Just leave a comment here telling me anything. Maybe you want to tell me about your favorite movie or something funny. Yesterday I ran out of my house after drinking my green smoothie.(Lil man was hysterical and the only thing that calms him down is taking a  walk.) I totally forgot to brush my teeth after drinking the smoothie. I ran into a lot of people I knew and I noticed that they kept giving me strange looks after I smiled at them.  When I got home, I looked in the mirror and my teeth were full of green chunks of smoothie. Very embarrassing. But I got a good laugh at it this morning. Anyway, leave a comment telling me anything you want.

Hugs,

Milly

Oh my ok that's a pretty embarassing story! Along the lines of embarassing stories a few years ago I went the WHOLE day with my jeans ripped at the bottom back pocket. NO ONE told me! After work I met up with one of my friends who finally pointed it out. I was wearing bright pink underwear too!

I would love to try this moisturizer out, I'm always weary about getting the right amount of moisture without looking greasy too.

Yesterday I was rushing out the door dressed for work with my suit on, make up done and a bright pink scrunchie in my hair! I completely forgot to do my hair! Thank goodness my honey was still home so that he could give me a weird look (instead of just simply telling me!)

Perfect! I've been having issues with dry skin this season and my regular moisturizer isn't doing any good. But I have acne-prone skin so I'm weary of anything greasy. Gotta try this! Thanks!

This may not necessarily be embarrassing, though I certainly was embarrassed by my stupidity, but I scratched my car on a pole in my driveway a few months ago. I got it fixed, $300 later. What do I do a month later? Yup, scratch t again on the same pole, in the same place on my car. AAAHHH!!! Another $300. I didn't even want to face the guys at the body shop place b/c I was so embarrassed! SO I got my husband to go :)

I love the new layout of your blog. I did have a embaressing moment this morning. So my husband usually leaves about 10 minutes before I do to go warm up my car. As I was finishing getting dressed and getting my daughter dressed I heard the door bell. I thought to myself..WTH..I told him I would call him when I was ready so he could pull the car upfront to our building. I buzzed the person in and out of anger rushed and opened the door with my hair still looking crazy and sticking straight up in the air. The funny thing was it wasn't my husband. It was one of his friends...Yikes.I ran back inside and slammed the door.lol I mean who comes to someones house before 8am?

Jan 10th starts my second semester of my second gradute school program (UIC - Health Informatics). Back on the grind again in the cold weather of Chicago. Instead of being concerned about the upcoming semester I'm checking out nail polish and blushes. I'd LOVE a non greasy face moisturizer to get me through... :)

this isnt funny but it really put things in perspective for me. i tried to extend an olive branch to a guy i liked and i sent him a text saying happy new year. his reply, hours and hours later, was "hey". not saying i sent him a sonnet but he could have at least said an empty happy new year back. *shrug* u live and u learn.

Kat said...

This was a while ago. I had a guy while exercising in the park and he insisted on walking me home, but I didn't want him to know where I lived, so I just blurted out a street number and kept walking with him. Eventually we got progressively closer to street I had named and he turned to me and told me that it didn't exist! LOL. Imagine my embarrassment! *^_^* I just pretended that I hadn't said that and hightailed it out of there as fast as I could heehee

I had a drama free New Year's except for the fact we spent the first few minutes of 2011 in the car stuck in traffic......oh and the fact I fell down in the bathroom of the club (just a tad drunk). What a disgusting way to bring in the New Year.

I agree with your only qualm...if this was cheaper, I would have bought loads! I'm off to the gym this afternoon for the first time in so many years! I'm excited! ;)

I have this spot acne treatment from Avon. Usually I apply it on at night because when it dries, it becomes white (against my brown skin) and flaky and peels off. I had to go out in the evening so I decided to put it on during the day to shrink a big zit on my face thinking that I'll peel it off when it dries before I leave. I was running and left the house. When I got on the bus everyone was staring at me. When I sat down and looked in the mirror, I saw this big, white, flaky peel hanging off my face. People must have thought my skin was coming off or worse - but no one told me!

Ok, here's my embarrassing/gross story, but it happened quite some time ago. My entire family was driving out of town and they had the grand idea that my sis and I should leave early with an aunt. But this leaving early also entailed that we sit in a hotel lobby for an ENTIRE DAY while my aunt was in a meeting! We quickly got very bored and being the smart 11 year old I was, I decided to stick my jelly belly jelly beans up my nose one at a time and them blow them out. Except when I got to the blue one, it got STUCK! I was panicking not knowing what to do or how to get it out. Thankfully, I just blew blue snot for a while until it was small enough to dislodge from my nose! Uhh, never tried that again!!

But I'd love to try this moisturizer, in fact the entire kit. I've heard so many great things about the line.

I'm using products for the marks and I need a good moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30.

Ndito, thanks for sharing. How do you tell someone that they have gunk in their teeth. LOL. Well it's like telling someone they have eye boogies, you just don't go there. Unless they're related to you or we are soooo close its like she/he is my family. Otherwise I would be mortified. :)

First of all I want to say that I absolutely LOVE this site. I had checked other beauty blogs but none quite like yours. I found the site cause I was looking for Vashtie's skin care regimen. That woman seriously has the bomb skin! So I will definitely be checking for that dermalogica face wash.

However, my real question is have you tried the Murad Fade Gel. I have pretty pronounced hyperpigmentation issues. Im beginning to get them under control with some products my dermatologist gave me and also an awesome homemade cucumber toner that I made (cucumber lightens dark spots...who knew). Im also using products from the Clinique Even Better line and its working but at a really slow pace. I was wondering if you could recommend a good fade gel and I know that DDF and Murad both have one I wanted to try.

beautylogicblog said...

@diva I am not a fan of products with hydroquinone at all. If I were you, to get rid of hyperpigmentaion, I would 1) Exfoliate twice a week, on the days you don't exfoliate 2) Use alphy hydrox alpha hydroxy souffle 12 % glycolic acid. This is very inexpensive and what I used for years. I just ordered some yesterday too 3) Make sure to use SPF 30 or up. You can use Murad's moisturizer too. 4) Don't stress. I noticed when I didn't worry about my hyperpigmentation, all of a sudden it was gone. Hope his helped.
