Lancome Rose Romance Palette Spring 2012 Review & Swatches
For Spring 2012 Lancome has released their Rose Romance palette. This palette is a very pretty mix of peach, pinks and even a plum. It contains a highlighter, all over lid palette, base color, contour color, and a liner. I don't wear too much pink around my eyes, just because I'm all about browns, and coppers, and purples, but when I applied these shadows, and saw how much brighter my face looked, it really made me want to explore pinks more especially for the spring.

Lancome Matte Lipstick Color Design
Lipsticks are barely a part of my beauty arsenal. I rarely if ever wear them. I’m much more in love with glosses. For some reason when I think of lipstick, I think of my vicious seventh grade teacher who had very thin chapped lips, horrible coffee/cigarette breath. She always wore this bright red lipstick that was totally wrong for her, and to make it worse, there were always shades of it on her front teeth. Yuke, not a cool memory at all. But, recently I tried Lancome’s new matte lipsticks, and after trying this, the memory of Miss. Klenfeld (yes that was her name) has completely been erased, because this new lipstick is rocking my world.
Have you tried this Lancome Collection?
Hugs,
DE
First of all, I tried two of their colors. Pink Preview Matte and Bronze Show Matte. The colors of both looked fantastic on my tan skin, but the bronze was the clear winner. The lipstick is matte, but when applied, my lips felt super hydrated (which never happens with lipstick). This did not dry my lips out at all.
Apparently the lipsticks contains a Revolutionary Color Seal Complex that contains soft silicones and pigments that are combined with comfort agents to deliver a rich matte color that is non-drying and long-lasting. The bronze color was a gorgeous dark orange, that really would work well on all women with tan skin, but the pink was the big surprise. It was a bright pink that honestly looked beautiful on me. Although lipsticks are never my first choice when it comes to beauty, I’ll reconsider with these Lancome ones.

Lancome Oscillation Powerfoundation Rocks My World
I’m not really a mineral foundation lover. I’ve tried them before, and it’s always been ehhh. After 8 hours my face looks blotchy, masky and usually they don’t provide enough coverage. However, a few weeks ago, I got the chance to try Lancome’s Oscillation Powerfoundation and my opinion on mineral foundations has greatly changed.
My shade in this is Sable 20. First of all, I love the packaging of this product. The Foundation is encased in a jar, and the applicator is over it. All you have to do is push the button on the applicator (the button makes the brush move 7000 micro-oscillations per minute) and begin applying on your face. The vibrations of the brush feel as if I'm giving myself a facial massage. So wonderful!
I love that unlike other mineral foundations this product will not leave a powdery mess all over my house. This product also has a very high amount of SPF-21. That’s high for any foundation, cream, powder or liquid. When I tried this, I couldn’t believe the amount of coverage it provided. Seriously, I didn’t have to use a concealer or anything for my hyper pigmentation. The Sable 20 shade was an exact match to my skin. Lancome claims this will last for 14 hours. I can attest that this lasted a full day on me without the need to re-apply. Also, this product is oil, talc, and fragrance free.
Me with this on.
What are your thoughts on mineral foundations?
Do you love them? Do you hate them?

Beauty of the Week PATRICIA REYNOSO & LANCOME 5 READERS GIVEAWAY!
2 Beautiful Dominicanas Patricia & ArlenisThis is my 400th post guys and I'm super excited. I want to thank everyone who has been reading me for so long. I really appreciate it. But today, we have a great post along with an amazing giveaway. We're interviewing the PR beauty director of Lancome today, who also happens to be a fellow Dominicana. Patricia Reynoso is absolutely amazing. She was the beauty director at Ladies Home Journal, and is the co-author of famed dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt's book "Age-Less skincare guide." I'm also absolutely obsessed with her blog www.latintale.com which chronicles her family's life. I love it! So without further ado, let's meet Patricia Reynoso!
1)What's your beauty regimen morning/night?
I’m fanatical about my skin, maybe even obsessed. I blame it on being a former beauty editor and knowing so much about ingredients and how the skin functions. I look at my skin, which is pretty decent considering I’m pushing 40, but I always want it to be better and better. Right now I’m seeing a dermatologist so I’m on a few prescriptions, like a benzoyl peroxide cleanser and Retin-A Micro. I use those at night, along with Génifique Eye and a salicylic acid moisturizer by our sister brand La Roche Posay. In the morning I cleanse with our Pure Focus gel cleanser and top with a vitamin C serum that protects from the sun and helps fade dark spots. My philosophy is to do the essentials—cleansing and moisturizing and protecting from the sun—but doing it with ingredients that give you the most bang for your buck.
2)What's your makeup routine?
Can I just say how happy makeup makes me? Just wanted say that! Ok, so I have a few makeup essentials that are so essential that I think I might die without them. Concealer tops that list because it’s like an eraser that makes everything nice and neat, allowing me to move onto the fun stuff. It’s the first thing I put on. I play around with different formulas but right now I’m loving Lancôme’s Maquicomplet after our interns told me that makeup artists always request it. I dot it under my eyes, on my eyelids, around my nose and on any blemishes or dark spots. Sometimes I blend it with a brush but most days I use my fingers and walk around getting ready for work while doing so.
I typically wear tinted moisturizer , topped by loose powder. (I need powder; I’m so shiny!) Next, I grab one of my hundreds of fluffy brushes and sweep bronzer pretty much all over. I then take a smaller brush and dot my cheeks with pinkish blush. I stop there and do the rest on the bus. I know that’s tacky but the bus is pretty empty and it takes me just a few minutes. I have a Ziploc bag with a neutral shadow palette, our waterproof eyeliner in either brown or navy and any of our amazing mascaras, usually Ôscillation, already in my purse. Most days I do a metallic brown shadow on my lids and I rim my entire eye with eyeliner. By the time I get to mascara I’m anxious to listen to Marc Anthony on my iPod so I do that really quickly. I do my lips at work, after my coffee!
3)What do you think has led to your success?
I was lucky enough to have started as a fashion editor at WWD but the rest of my career is a result of my passion for the industry. Meaning that yes, I was in a good place, but I would’ve have lasted very long without my fascination and love for what I was doing. I was also really curious about other departments and if I thought it was for me, I would ask those folks if they wouldn’t mind sitting with me and telling me what they did. I also remained very humble and gracious, knowing that my immigrant parents were limited and I wasn’t about to throw away my good fortune.
4)What quotes or motto do you live by?
I don’t know if it’s a quote, but I believe in treating everyone how I’d like to be treated. Not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because you just never know whose help you’re going to need in the future. That’s been proven to me over and over again!
5)What beauty advice can you give us?
Take care of your skin! A tan is just your skin telling you that it’s been hurt and it’s the cause of all the terrible things you see in the mirror. Don’t sleep with makeup on, especially mascara—yuck! Everyone, I don’t care how gorgeous you are, looks better with a little makeup on so don’t be afraid to play. And finally, be happy. A smile is always beautiful.
WE LOVE YOU PATRICIA. THANKS FOR AGREEING TO BE PART OF THE INTERVIEW.

BEAUTYLOGIC JUST LOVES ARLENIS!

Arlenis with Miss Dominican Republic
Congratulations to Lancome spokesmodel Arlenis Sosa who was honored at The Latin Pride National Awards last Thursday night in Boston. These awards recognize the most successful representatives of the Latino community in sports, film, music, education—and of course, fashion.
The annual celebration takes place in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month to commemorate and celebrate the positive contributions of the Latino community to the American culture. As many of you know, my dear Arlenis hails from my country of origin. Ah, I was so excited to meet her. If you don't remember my post, click here As I said before, this woman's spirit captivated me. When I met her, I felt as if we were old friends.
Arlenis wore a gown by fellow Dominican Oscar de la Renta, a designer who has supported her every season that she’s been a model. Arlenis told Lancome that she was quite nervous, especially when she looked out at the audience filled with Latinos, and was overcome with pride and gratitude.
Arlenis just shot a major Lancôme makeup ad. She’s also hard at work on a special charity project to benefit the underprivileged in her country. Stay tuned for details! Arlenis is currently in Europe taking part in the Spring 2010 collections.

ARLENIS SOSA CHIT CHATS WITH BEAUTYLOGIC & GIVEAWAY FOR 10 READERS.
Well guys it finally happened. Arlenis Sosa and I met. It was great. She was everything I expected and more. Gorgeous, Statuesque, and just super sweet.

She went out of her way to answer all of my questions. She’s so super stunning in person, with these gorgeous thick eyebrows, incredibly high cheekbones, and beautiful lips. I can’t believe how tall she is. She’s got to be at least two feet taller than me. I felt like a midget. lol On another note, she had on the hottest shoes ever! I dream of those heels. I’d like to thank Arlenis for being so wonderful and the beautiful people of Lancome for setting that up including Kerry Diamond and Patricia Reynoso who is the director of Lancome PR and is a fellow Dominicana. Her blog is fabulous as well. It’s called latintale.com
Anyway without further adieu, let’s chit chat with ARLENIS
1) How do you keep your hair so fabulous even though it’s probably gets exposed to heat and damaging products all the time?
Conditioning is so important to the health of your hair. The shampoo/conditioner I use all the time contains tea tree oil. It’s very minty and leaves my hair very clean. I try never to use hairspray because it just dries out your hair, but if I do, I wash it out. I use a great tea tree deep treatment for about 10 minutes, and then I wash it off with hot water, and then after with cold water. It leaves my hair really soft and moisturized.
2)How do you keep your skin so fab?
There’s a lot to that. I drink a lot of water. I never ever sleep with makeup on and I try to get at least eight hours of sleep. It is so important to allow the skin to take a rest. In the evening, I wash my face. I then use Lancome’s Tonique Radiance to get rid of every single trace of makeup. After that I put a hot towel on my face for a little bit then end the night by using Lancome’s Focus cream. In the morning, I use the toner again, and then use Lancome’s Bienfait Multi-Vital Glow for moisture. If I’m not shooting, I never wear makeup-well maybe just mascara and eyeliner. Best mascara as you know are the Lancome Oscillation & Lancome Definicils
3)What beauty products must be in Arlenis’s makeup bag at all times?
Hmmm.. always Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital Glow, and my mascara and eyeliner. The expression of a woman's eyes is the most important to her face.
4) What life advice can you give us?
In life, do what you feel like you were meant to do. You can’t settle. You have to be positive all the time as well. If you want something then go 100% for it, and know that it will happen and it will.
Thanks Arlenis, We love you here.
Arlenis is walking in some great shows for fashion week. Oscar De la Renta, Narcisco Rodrigues, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Tommy Hilfiger, Jason Wu and Ruffian. You go girl!
Hey guys, do you notice a pattern here, all of the successful people that I’ve interviewed believed in themselves. Let’s believe we can make it and we will.

Hey guys, are you so psyched about Fashions Night Out? I am! I can’t wait. So many events, and so little time. You know Lancome (a friend to this blog) is having some of the best events. One of the events I’m super excited about is meeting fellow Dominicana and Lancome spokeswoman Arlenis. I am so proud of this beautiful Dominicana. She’s made such a mark on the fashion/beauty world in such a short amount of time. She will be at Macys on 34th Street tomorrow from 6-7pm tomorrow meeting her fans. If you have any questions you'd like to ask her, please send me an e-mail at beautylogicblog@yahoo.com
I’m so excited.
UPDATE: THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN PLANS. SHE WILL BE AT BLOOMINGDALES IN SOHO TOMORROW FROM 6-7.

De's New Love Lancome's Juicy Tube in Rose Nectar

As you guys know, DE is a huge fan of Lancome, for many reasons. Not only is my fellow Dominicana Arlenis Sosa one of the faces of their brand (pictured above, isn't she stunning) but honestly their products are truly some of the best out there. Nothing gets my lashes longer and thicker than their Definicils. I’m sure many of my readers would agree. Their Juicy tubes are amongst my favorite in glosses. I think they have every shade imaginable, and their newest Rose Nectar is gorgeous!

In the tube it looks incredibly pink, but once applied to the lips, it’s a beautiful nude with a tremendous amount of shine, and gorgeous little sparkles. It’s so pretty on my lips but the best thing about this, is that it stays on. I hate when I have to constantly reapply glosses. This is definitely a BeautyLogic Approved item.
Have you tried Lancome’s Juicy tubes?
What are you weekend plans guys?
Supposed to be beautiful in NY, so I am headed to the beach -with plenty of SPF in my bag of course.
Hugs,
DE

Ah, that’s a pic of Arlenis Sosa at the MET Ball. Doesn't she take your breath away? Isn’t she stunning. I love that Dominicana Beauty. And I love the fact that one of my favorite beauty companies, Lancome recognized her beauty and made her one of their models. I love Lancome for that! But I also love Lancome because their products are incredible especially their new Genifique

Lancome Genifique is a Winner & New Giveaway!

I’ve stated to you before besides being busy, one of the reasons I haven’t been blogging as much lately is because of the lack of beauty products that I’m loving. I only blog about products that I absolutely adore! Besides being a reporter, my goal in life is to stay looking 21 forever.lol. As a woman in my twenties I make sure to use anti-aging products every single day (I hope you do too)! Lancome recently gave me a bottle of their newest creation Genifique, and I really think this product lives up to the hype. Lancome worked on this product with the hospital centre of Quebec University of Laval and the president of Lancome says that this product will turn make protein levels return to the levels of younger skin. As you know, I always say the proof is in the pudding. I’ve been trying this or about 10 days now. I apply before my serums and moisturizer. The product sinks right in and my skin felt like pure silk, and so smooth. After my serum and moisturizer were on, my skin glowed. Even my soon to be mother- in-law noticed the difference. I’ll def be making this apart of my beauty regime. It really is great!
And guess what, I want you to love this too.
I’m giving away a bottle of Lancome’s New Genifique! It doesn’t come out till April, but you know DE never lets her readers wait! Send an email to beautylogicblog@yahoo.com telling me why you need Genifique in your life. Contest ends Wednesday.
Big Hugs,
BEAUTY OF THE WEEK KERRY DIAMOND & BEAUTYLOGIC'S HUGE LANCOME GIVEAWAY!!
Kerry Diamond, heading to the Met Costume Institute Gala. Next to her is Andrew Sotomayer, her favorite make-up artist.I’m kicking off my Beauty of the Week series again, and I want to introduce you to an extraordinary woman. Kerry Diamond is the author of one of my favorite books, “A Beautiful Life” written about celebrity make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin. His untimely death was such a tragedy but his good friends never forgot him, and Kerry really made sure she captured his essence throughout this amazing and incredibly well-written read. But not only is Kerry a gifted author, she’s the current Vice President of Lancome Public Relations. Before that, from 2001-2005 she was the beauty director of Harpars Bazaar Magazine, and before that she was the beauty director of WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) as well as the founder and editor of WWD Beauty Biz. Can we say POWER WOMAN! I’m honored that Kerry took the time out of her very busy schedule to answer my Beauty of the Week questions. Thank you so much! Oh and she’s also providing Beauty Logic with our biggest giveaway yet. You can win a few of Kerry's Favorite Lancome Items right here (worth over $500).
So Kerry, What’s your beauty regimen?
I’ve had a skincare regimen since I was 13 when I used Noxema and I think it’s paid off. For the a.m., I splash my face with water, then apply Lancome Collaser-5X Serum —my absolute favorite—and moisturizer. I change my moisturizer from time to time so I can try new things in our line. Right now, I’m loving High Resolution Refill 3X day cream. It will be out soon! I also apply eye cream. I must have about a dozen in my bathroom. Rénergie R.A.R.E is my current fave . Then I apply sunscreen. Lancôme sells one in Europe that I stock up on every time I go overseas because it’s super light and has a high SPF. At night, I remove my eye makeup with Bi-Facil then I cleanse with Secret de Vie Cleanser . It’s pricey, but it’s great. I don’t like soapy cleanser. Soap really does strip your skin, which is not good if you have dry skin—but not all creamy cleansers feel like they’re getting your skin clean. This one does the trick. Then Collaser-5X again and Secret de Vie night cream, which I’m road-testing. It comes out in March. If I have any blemishes, I dot on some Proactiv.
What makeup do you use?
Concealer, cream blush, translucent face powder, under-eye powder, powder blush, eyebrow pencil, liquid eyeliner, mascara and then a lip product, either a lipstick or a Juicy Tube! Everything is Lancôme, except for one thing. (I know I work for Lancome, but we really do have amazing products!) The non-Lancôme product is Laura Mercier’s under-eye brightening powder. It’s great if your concealer tends to sit in the fine lines under your eyes. I change products around a lot each morning because I like to use different things from our line and try different shades, but the one constant is my blush brush. It’s Lancôme Brush No. 7 and it has a flat top, unlike a traditional blush brush, so you can blend as you apply. If you spend money on one good brush, that’s the one to get. It’s brilliant.
What beauty product can’t you live without?
To be honest, I’ve had so many favorite beauty products discontinued that I don’t get too attached any more! It happens to me now and it happened all the time when I was an editor. At Bazaar, I used to get letters from women devastated that their favorite perfume or lipstick had been discontinued. There are so many great products out there, try something different! It’s a waste of time getting in a beauty rut. This is a boring answer to the question, but I’d say Le Crayon Poudre Eyebrow Pencil in taupe. It’s so perfect in so many ways, from the shade to the texture to the bristle brush at the end of the pencil.
What beauty advice can you give us?
If you’re young, DON’T TWEEZE YOUR EYEBROWS! So many women over-tweezed when they were in their teens (like me) and that hair DOES NOT GROW BACK. I know it’s hard not to tweeze, but use restraint. Look at the eyebrows on women like Arlenis or Natalia Vodianova. They did not go Tweezerman crazy. Next, don’t drink soda if you can avoid it. I honestly think people who skip soda have better skin. Lastly, if you have curly hair, learn how to deal with it. I wasted so much money on curl creams and other products that do nothing. A few years ago, I figured out that a large-barrel curling iron works wonders! Beauty blogs are a great place to get advice about dealing with your hair. People can tell you what they’ve tried and what really works.
What’s the best advice someone ever gave you?
This isn’t something anyone told me, but rather something I learned working for Glenda Bailey, the editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar. Always follow your instinct! Whenever I neglected to do that, or second-guessed myself or didn’t listen to my gut, something would go wrong. Trust yourself!
Thanks Kerry!!!!

LANCOME & ARLENIS SOSA =BEAUTIFUL

According to WWD
"Lancôme has added an up-and-comer to its stable of spokesmodels: Arlenis Sosa, a 19-year-old former student discovered in her home country of the Dominican Republic this past April.
“Arlenis possesses beauty, intelligence, charm and compassion,” said Odile Roujol, president of Lancôme. “All of our brand ambassadors share these attributes, so we knew she would be a wonderful addition. We are very proud to welcome her to the Lancôme family.”
Sosa was discovered on her way to a college class by a designer, who sent a shot of her to Marilyn Agency’s Peter Cedeño. She arrived in the U.S. this spring, signed with the Marilyn..."
I love that Dominicana & Lancome!
Lancome Oscillation Mascara=Wow!

When I first heard about Lancome’s New Oscillating Mascara, you know I had to have it! Yesterday a few stores around the country were given the opportunity to sell it for one day only; the rest would have to wait until its official release in November. You know I was one of the first people lined up anxiously waiting to get my hands on this. And mamas, it was worth the wait! This is making me want to throw my staples Lancome L’extreme and Definils out of the window. The brush of this mascara looks incredibly average. It’s pretty skinny, not curved, or fat like many of my other mascaras, but when you press the button on the wand, the thing starts vibrating like there is no tomorrow. (Shoot, the way it was vibrating, I thought it was going to let me perform magic tricks.) I applied the mascara on one of my lashes without pressing the button, and they looked pretty good-a very similar result to my Defincils. HOWEVER, when I applied it to my other lash and pressed the button to make it vibrate, wooooh, the difference was pretty extraordinary. It tickled for some reason though when I was doing it (must have been the 7000 oscillations per minute). I did around 2 coats on my lashes but I didn't apply it the way I normally apply mascara. I just let it basically vibrate on them but without really moving my hand, (kind of hard to explain), and Holy Good Lord Mother of Jesus!!! My lashes looked out of this world long and ridiculously volumous, NO CLUMPING AT ALL. I went into the office, and got a slew of compliments on my lashes (two people even asked if i had falsies on). I loved it!!!!!!!
And guess what I want you to love it too. As you know by now Beautylogic loves giving away things, so I picked up two for two lucky readers. Send your name to BeautyLogicBlog@yahoo.com with the heading “DE, I NEED THAT LANCOME OSCILLATING MASCARA NOW.” Winners gets picked by mommy and announced Monday August, 4, 2008.
Hugs,

Things You Must Carry at All Times
When I go out with my friends to a lounge or event, I always like to carry a super chic cute small pochette. However, they all make fun of me because the fact of the matter is sometimes my "super chic cute small pochette" ends up looking like an overstuffed bag full of crap. (Many times I can barely zipper it). These are the six things that I must carry with me at all times, or I just can't function:
Mascara sweeties
Nothing opens up those eyes more. I have 6 favorites that I'll blog about later. But this is my classic one:
Lancome L'Extreme

When wearing this, I've been accused of having eyelash extensions-thats how much this mascare elongates and volumizes my lashes. HOWEVER (and some of you may disagree) I find that with the correct application of Covergirl Lash Blast, your lashes can look equally as fabulous (with a way less price-tag).

Blush
I have way too many to name, but these are the two that were in my bag last night.
Mineralogie Apricot Toast

This seriously makes me look as if I'm glowing.
My old favorite is:
The Mac Pink Swoon

Camera
I like to think of myself as The Dominican Sartorialist I take pictures of everything and everyone. You should see the pics I've taken in NY (maybe I'll start a new blog......nah). Here is a pic of one of my cameras:
Sony Camera

Chap Stick
I use a variety of them, but these are my old favorites.
Carmex with spf 15

or the classic Rosebud Lip Salve

Lip Gloss (I seriously have a lip gloss addiction)! I have way too many, but here are two that were with me last night.
Clinique Long Lasting LipWear with SPF15

Mac Ensign Lip Glass

Oil blotting Sheets
Clean & Clear Oil are my usual ones Yesterday in NY it was close to 100 degrees. I saw so many shiny and oily faces. A few times, I felt like passing New Yorkers some of these.

And of course, my Blackberry

Wait, shoooooot, I forgot one more thing. Ooh, maybe there are 7 things I must have.
My small Melange Apothecary concrete perfume of Tuberose. This smells so amazing.

Here's a pic of last night's overstuffed pochette.

What are a few things that you must carry with you at all times?
Hugs,
DE
