Viviscal Hair Growth Formula & Giveaway

Please Note: I have not tried this product!

I get a lot of emails asking me "Milly, What you can do to make my hair grow?"  I truly believe that hair growth begins from within. Remember that your hair is dead and it grows from the scalp, so nothing that you apply on it, will make it wake up and start growing. Imagine if your hair was alive. It would hurt like hell when you got a hair cut! Lol,  Although I do believe massaging your scalp can definitely stimulate hair growth. It's so important that you are taking the proper nutrients. Anyway, I recently received a box of Viviscal to try out. Viviscal is a pill that contains Horsetail extract -an organic from of silica, Vitamin C, and something called Amino Mar C Marine Complex. It's said to stimulate hair growth.  Apparently a few dermatologist and hair transplant surgeons recommend this stuff. In the February issue of Vogue Magazine Famed Hair Stylist Orlando Pita says that he constantly recommends this stuff and Redken editorial Wiz Guido Paulo stated that he heard about it through a model he knew whose hair was extremely damaged and then when he saw her six months later, her hair looked amazing, very thick and long. Anyway, I have not tried this stuff nor can I because I'm currently nursing a seven month old lil cutie who just grew two teeth (Ouch!)  but I'd like one of my readers to give it a whirl. So I'm doing a giveaway:

One reader will get a chance to win this. All you have to do is leave a comment here. Tell me anything! This is a 30 day supply.

Here's something interesting: I recently found out that my crazy break outs and horrid mood swings were not from sleeping with makeup, but from crazy hormone levels. (My Doctor gave me a hormone test.) He wanted to prescribe some birth control pills to regulate them but because I swore to myself that I would breast feed Lil Man for a year, I declined.

Anyway, leave a comment to enter. Winner gets announced Wed!

Hugs,

Milly

I'm glad you didn't take the hormones. The doctors did that to me years ago. When they don't know what's wrong they say let's put you on birth control pills and see if they help. I found a doctor that put me on milk thistle or silymarin. It helps the liver to get rid of the extra hormones. I also had to go off of wheat. I hope you feel better. I love your blog!!

Milly, thank you so much for posting about this product. I went to see my doctor last week because I noticed my hair has been thinning;he told me this is just something that happens sometimes to women your age(I'm 37!). Well I refuse to just sit back and accept that, and will be trying this product whether I win or not. Thanks so much for the info!! LOVE this blog!

Milly, I just want to say that your blog is fabulous :) It's so informative and I'm so glad that you try out all these products which give us a glimpse before we cave in and purchase. In terms of hair I used to have VERY thick hair but recently I've discovered a lot of hair being lost when I shower or when I brush it. I went to my doctor and he said the only thing I can do is really balance out my diet make sure I have enough vitamins etc. I think that this product would be really interesting to try out and see if it can help my problem at all. Overall I just wanted to comment to tell you to keep up the GREAT work with the blog, us as readers really truly appreciate it :))

p.s: thanks for all the lovely giveaways too! xx

Milly- Good for you! Breastfeeding definitely takes commitment and sacrifice.I commend you for staying on the process!! As So said, milk thistle is a great alternative but I'm not sure that you can take that while breastfeeding. I hope the hormones ease up on their own! Good luck

Milly,
I'd love to try this product! I was in a car accident 18 months ago, and I underwent surgery in December due to my injuries. The stress of having to go in the hospital & worrying my lil girl wreaked havoc on my skin, and the hair in the crown of my head. It's super thin! Needless to say, all the worrying was for nothing...I'm better than ever! I'd really like to try this product. My hair hasn't been the same since I birthed my 4 year old daughter. #sigh.
Love your blog! Thanks, Nakita

I know this has nothing to do with viviscal - but there are birth control pills that are approved while breast feeding...my sister was on one( that she claimed was the only 'approved' one :) ) I believe it is progestin only.
Love your blog - your lookin' great mama!

Hi Milly!!! I absolutely love reading your blog because you always have the greatest tips and talk about such great products. I must say that your love of coconut oil is what really got me into this blog! I was introduced to it a couple of years ago and am hooked-I truly think it is a miracle product. I think that its great that you encourage people to use it because I try to do the same, but some people seem very skeptical.

Cool. I actually purchased this for two female relatives who have thinning hair and they both said they noticed less shedding and slightly thicker hair with this. Also, i strongly caution going on birth control pills to fix hormonal acne. I went ON birth control pills for a non-label use unrelated to acne (previously only experienced acne because of stress and oily skin clogging). I went on seasonale for 1 year and went off of it because decided it wasn't necessary. I experienced the most horrendous acne beard of my life a month after use. Never broke out on jaw line/cheek hollows before taking pill. 1 year of seasonale messed up my hormone levels for years and still experiencing hormonal breakouts on jaw line and cheeks like never before. it is a temporary solution that could leave you worse if you decide to go off.

that was weird - i thought this was a new post not a year old post. woops. Hope bp pills worked out for you if you did go on them.
