Laura Mercier Holiday Luxe Colour Portfolio 2011

Before I begin the actual review of of the Laura Mercier Holiday Luxe Colour Portfolio, can we talk about sexy this packaging is! Snakeskin!!  Love! The product itself is pretty great too. It contains six highly pigmented eye shadows,  three tightline cake eyeliners, and two cheek colors, along with three of her amazing brushes.
Click below to see swatches and a look I did:

Here are swatches of the eyeshadows:

From Left to Right
Primrose would be a great highlight or inner corner color-yellow pink satin finish
African Violet- a gorgeous shimmer violet copper  ( looks so beautiful on brown eyes)
Merlot-(new color)  Satin plum, Looks shimmery in the pot, but did not experience shimmer when applied.
Truffle-a deep matte brown
Topaz -Shimmer pink taupe
Stellar-Champagne with silver shimmer

I've used these shadows for the last week, and have to say they are very pigmented, easily
blendable, don't crease throughout the day, and have very minimal fall out.

Here are the tightline Eyeliners

Ground Expresso, Black Ebony, Burgundy Wine Eyeliner
Although they rec using these tightliners with her applicator, I actually just applied with distilled water.  Once applied, these stay on pretty much throughout the day.

My favorite part of her collection is her City Pink Blush. This blush gives my face such a gorgeous flush. I really love it. Here are swatches of both the blushes:
Left: Rose Petal, City Pink (Fuchsia Pink)
Rose Petal was pretty but on me a little too light.
City Pink was perfect. A gorgeous satin fuchsia pink.So pretty on tan skin.

The portfolio also comes with three brushes. Although they describe them as mini brushes, these brushes look pretty full size to me.

Here's a quick look I did with the eye shadows and City Pink Blush for date night.

On the lid and bottom lash, African Violet, on the crease -Truffle, Outer v- Merlot. Blush-City Pink

All in all, this portfolio comes with some serious product for $98.00. The packaging is the bomb.com. And you get six eyeshadow colors, three tightline colors, two blushes, and 3 brushes. That's pretty sweet.

Would you pick this up?

Hugs,

Milly

your makeup looks gorgeous, the packaging for the product is really sleek and chick, it's something that I may consider purchasing. However, what really caught my eyes were those earrings! Just logged onto to rachel roy's website to buy a pair lol
